Meet Basil! Basil is a red, pie bald, short hair male, pure bred Dachshund, dew claws removed. His vet birthday guess is 6/3/08 and he weighs 11.80 pounds. Basil visited the vet clinic 6/5/09 to receive his direct, occultheartworm testing which showed he was heartworm negative. His fecal testing show to be positive for coccidia. Medicine was give to treat the coccidia. Basil started Revolution for heartworm prevention and flea control. Basil visited the vet clinic 6/10/09 and received his neuter and shots with rabies. Basil is ready for adoption. Pictures taken 10/8/09. Basil was breeder surrendered with his father Arty, mother Rosey and brother Ace to SRAS. Spring River Animal Services (SRAS) in Cherokee Village, Arkansas contacted JTR to help this little family. The family will make their trip to Texarkana, Texas 6/5/09 in the dog rescue van. Basil was kept in an indoor pen. He was born to make money for a human. The human was unable to sell Basil and his brother Ace. With no breeder money coming in the human was forced to dispose of this life named Basil. Basil is a wonderful little guy. He was very shy coming into rescue. Basil is learning that humans are friendly. He is very friendly to other breeds of dogs. Basil is very playful and loving. He and his brother Ace get along very well. Ace and his brother Basil are very friendly to each other. They can be separated or adopted together. Basil is leaning potty and leash training. He is doing very well on crate training. All animals for adoption are rescued from shelters or owner surrenders. Every JTR rescued animal is fully vetted and 100% healthy prior to adoption. Puppies under 4 months old receive their shots from a DVM. A spay/neuter contract is required for adoption. The vetting of an adult animal includes spay/neutered, shots with rabies, heartworm and parasite tested. Treatment of heartworms, dentals, cherry eye repair, mange, parvo exposure and broken limbs are some examples of what is done to save lives. Vet records come with adoption along with the last date of interceptor for heartworm prevention and frontline placed for flea control. Click here to see JTR's Homeless Animals for Adoption! JTR will transport and ship any animal. All rescued animals deserve a wonderful home now and not sit waiting for months. Jeff will personally drive some distance to help a homeless animal find his or hers forever home. Never adopted before? Everyone wishing to adopt an animal from JTR must complete an adoption application. This application asks for general information about the adopter, adopters family, other current and prior pets and previous veterinary care. If you have never had a family pet before, follow up veterinary calls will be made during the year to insure the animal is being well cared for. Home visits are required unless the distance is too far for JTR or JTRs contacts. Pictures of the home and common ground are required. Once the application is approved the adopter may meet and or adopt any of JTR's animals. A signed adoption contract is required. Adopters with approved applications are top priority to JTR.
