Meet Rudy! Rudy is a male black and tan Dachshund. His vet birthday guess is 8/28/07 and he weighs 20.50 pounds. Rudy visited the vet clinic 9/2/09 to receive his heartworm treatment. He spent 2 weeks of rest with 2 followup check ups. Rudy visited the vet clinic 9/18/09 to receive his neuter, shots with rabies and fecal testing negative. Rudy was rescued with some infection. His fur is almost healed from what looks to be fire ants. His underside, paws and tail were very red and all fur was lost in those bit areas. Rudy is now 100% healthy and ready for adoption. Pictures taken 9/27/09. Rudy was rescue 8/27/09 from the Humane Society of Northeast Texas in Longview, Texas. He tested heartworm postive and needed a willing rescue to help him. Rudy is a very loving fellow. "Bionic Dog" He can run, jump and play. It was amazing to watch this rescue zombie soul transform to a happy healthy K 9. He is still a tad shy to first meeting new humans. Rudy warms up quickly and will give you hours of love. He knows his name and enjoys toys and being held. Rudy is crate, leash and potty trained. All animals for adoption are rescued from shelters or owner surrenders. Every JTR rescued animal is fully vetted and 100% healthy prior to adoption. Puppies under 4 months old receive their shots from a DVM. A spay/neuter contract is required for adoption. The vetting of an adult animal includes spay/neutered, shots with rabies, heartworm and parasite tested. Treatment of heartworms, dentals, cherry eye repair, mange, parvo exposure and broken limbs are some examples of what is done to save lives. Vet records come with adoption along with the last date of interceptor for heartworm prevention and frontline placed for flea control. Click here to see JTR's Homeless Animals for Adoption! JTR will transport and ship any animal. All rescued animals deserve a wonderful home now and not sit waiting for months. Jeff will personally drive some distance to help a homeless animal find his or hers forever home. Never adopted before? Everyone wishing to adopt an animal from JTR must complete an adoption application. This application asks for general information about the adopter, adopters family, other current and prior pets and previous veterinary care. If you have never had a family pet before, follow up veterinary calls will be made during the year to insure the animal is being well cared for. Home visits are required unless the distance is too far for JTR or JTRs contacts. Pictures of the home and common ground are required. Once the application is approved the adopter may meet and or adopt any of JTR's animals. A signed adoption contract is required. Adopters with approved applications are top priority to JTR.
