Position Title:
Machinist Supervisor
Key Responsibilities:
· Supervisory responsibility for Machinist personnel
· Coordinates and leads IHM machining operations, quotes projects, develops production plans and follow-up with customer on status.
· Works with planner/scheduler and ensures that equipment is ready in accordance with the production schedule.
· Defines available labor resources and schedules labor and work cell activity to meet production needs.
· Manufactures and repairs mold equipment and inspects to ensure that quality specifications are maintained.
· Maintains inventory of plungers and rings and inspects to ensure that quality specifications are maintained.
· Participates in Job Change improvement processes and works with production personnel to coordinate and optimize job changes.
· Resource planning to coordinate overall workload and to address machine and labor availability
· Analyzes machine availability and loading and provides a recommended schedule to accommodate customer requirements.
· Provides status reports for all work orders and communicates concerns to customers and Management.
· Maintains and reports metrics of work cells.
· Uses Customer Service Feedback system to identify gaps and uses Lean tools to improve work processes.

· Mazak - Mill & Lathes
· Fadal - Mill
· Cincinnati - Mill & Lathe
· Warner Swazey - Lathe
· Haas - Lathe
Minimum Requirements
· Machine Shop Experience with a strong mechanical aptitude
· Manual and CNC machine experience with shop floor programming experience
· Familiar with trade related tools, tooling, information resources and precision measuring instruments
· Prior Supervisory experience and good teaching, coaching, and leadership skills
· LEAN / 5S training or certification
· Good written and verbal communication skills
· Good record keeping skills, computer competency, and Microsoft Office software knowledge
· Willing to work extended hours as required
· Willing to receive phone calls after hours when issues arise
· High school diploma or equivalent
Desired:
· Six Sigma Certification
· Machining Technical Certification or completion of a State approved Apprentice Program
