The goats for sale are all at least half saanen or sable dairy goat. Other than the buck they are not registerable. Some can’t be registered just because they have a sable parent and don’t have color. The castrated males are being sold as pets for thirty dollars each. The does are $50 to $100 each.
The ages are about six months to two years.
I do have one registered proven sable buck for sale for $125. He’s fair quality and a nice boy who’s related to 90 percent of my herd. He’s mostly white. I would trade for an unrelated sable with more color.
Saanens and sables are known as the gentle giants of the goat world with eager to please personality. For this reason they are great for pack and cart goats. My biggest wether can wear a pony saddle and give my small children rides. Be warned however, that even though they usually love people, if a small child were walk into a herd of the goats with a small cup of feed, the child would likely be mobbed. Goats are very determined and competitive eaters and have been known to eat themselves to death if they get too much grain.
The goats are mostly friendly, but some might be shy around strangers for a while.
Goats have been given CD&T vaccines, been wormed, and disbudded, (Horn buds destroyed) though some have scurs. (Patrial horns from where disbudding wasn’t successful.)
The goats are for sale only to really good homes. Please don’t purchase a goat from me if you plan to slaughter the goat or if you aren’t prepared to properly care for the animal. I will gladly give people considering goats, a goat care fact sheet with things they would need to know before they decide to bring goats home.
